Global Unity Against Airline Fraud
Originally established in 2007 as the European Airlines Fraud Prevention Group, this initiative began with a small group of European carriers including Air France, Finnair, KLM, Martinair, Swiss, and Virgin Atlantic coming together to share knowledge and collaborate in the fight against airline fraud.
What started as a regional effort has evolved into a truly global network. Today, the Global Airline Fraud Prevention Group (GAFPG) includes over 55 airlines from all continents, representing both legacy and low-cost carriers.
The group has also welcomed online travel agencies (OTAs), enhancing the ecosystem of cooperation against fraud across the broader travel industry.
As a voluntary, non-profit association, the GAFPG brings together industry professionals who dedicate their time and expertise to collectively strengthen fraud prevention worldwide. With the involvement of key industry bodies such as IATA and ARC, the group has expanded its scope, reach, and impact, leading to its renaming in 2025 to better reflect its international mission.
The GAFPG continues to foster proactive collaboration, real-time intelligence sharing, and industry-wide best practices to strengthen fraud prevention in the global airline and travel sectors.
